This category is designed to recognise products or solutions that have been developed for either active or passive fire protection. The installation of these products must have taken place since 1 January 2023 and the products must have been launched no earlier than 1 January 2023. Fire Innovation of the Year

Key tips for your entry

1. Keep information simple

2. Product must be new
We will disqualify any entry that was launched prior to 1 January 2023 so please ensure that your entry meets this criteria or it will not be accepted. Your product must have been successfully installed no earlier than 1 January 2023. If it is found to have been installed prior to that date you will be disqualified.

3. You do not have to be a customer of Western Business Media to be eligible to enter the awards.

4. Provide detail about the performance of the product/service
The judges need to know the product, service or implemented installation or project is fit for purpose. There is no need to supply full test evidence if there is commercial sensitivity issues, however performance claims need to be backed up with independent fire test evidence. A written letter headed declaration of reaction to fire or of fire resistance performance from a notified test lab will suffice as evidence of performance claims.

5. Legal proceedings
If your company has been subject to any prosecution in relation to fire safety law or health and safety law since 1 January 2023, or has been subject to any enforcement notices, then your entry will automatically be disqualified.

This category is designed to recognise a manufacturer of fire safety systems that has gone above and beyond in its commitment to innovation and/or its systems meet the highest standards. This category will be judged based on feedback from clients on the quality of the system(s) that have been nominated.

The answers to the entry questions must relate to projects or systems installed since 1 January 2023. Any products or services installed prior to this date are not eligible for entry.

Fire Safety Manufacturer of the Year

 This category is designed to recognise a female security professional who made a significant contribution to the implementation or enhancement of security standards within either their own or a client organisation or a woman working within the security sector who has made a significant contribution to their organisation.

The individual must work within an organisation that is within the security sector OR they must have made a significant contribution to the introduction and promotion of standards within the sector since 1 January 2023.
